Susan McAlindon, Operations Manager/Proprietor
Susan has been in the food service/hospitality industry for the past 21 years. She has a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from San Francisco City College. Susan has worked for four-star hotels in San Francisco and Los Angeles in several different managerial positions. She was relocated to Los Angeles in 1990 to be the Executive Assistant to the Project Director of the construction of the Hotel Nikko at Beverly Hills. Upon completion of the hotel in 1993, Susan became the Executive Secretary to the General Manager of the Hotel.

In 1996 Susan was hired by Suzanne and Don Dunaway as Office Manager to the newly founded Buona Forchetta Handmade Bread bakery. In six short years Buona Forchetta grew from seven employees and a handful of accounts to over 60 employees baking 2000+ loaves a day for over 120 grocery stores including Gelsons, Bristol Farms, Whole Foods, Wild Oats and Ralphs. Susan assisted in the expansion of the business until the company was sold in 2002.

After taking some time off to relax, work at the local farmers' markets, and go hiking daily, Susan was convinced by Chef Bill to join him in his catering kitchen. Aside from being much more pleasant on the phone than Chef Bill, Susan is Chef Bill’s business partner and dear close friend. Coming from San Francisco, a city of many diverse cultures, Susan experienced the melting pot of cuisines in a city that takes great pride in its restaurants and chefs. She knows quality food, has great taste buds, and loves to eat – which helps Flatbush & J Gourmet succeed in sending out great product to our clients on a consistent basis.
